The MSc starts in the autumn semester of each academic year.
The duration of studies leading to the award of the MSc Diploma is set at three (3) academic semesters, which includes the time for the preparation of the thesis.
The maximum time allowed for the completion of studies is six (6) academic semesters (exceptional cases may apply).
If the maximum time limit is exceeded, the Director of the MSc program shall inform the Steering Committee, which may decide to withdraw the student from the MSc program.
The Steering Committee may approve the suspension of a postgraduate student’s studies, fully justified, following his/her application and the recommendation of the Double Degree Msc programme’s Steering Committee. Those postgraduate students who have received educational leave from their employer for their studies in the Double Degree Programme are not entitled to a suspension of studies during the same period of time. The semesters of suspension of student status do not count towards the maximum period of regular study and the temporary suspension of study may not exceed two consecutive semesters. During the period of suspension, the student’s status as a student shall be withdrawn and all his/her rights shall be suspended. Student status shall be restored automatically after the end of the suspension period. After the suspension has been lifted, the postgraduate student will continue from the point of studies at which the suspension started.
A student who resumes his/her studies is obliged to attend the courses, seminars, etc., in which he/she was not successfully assessed before the suspension. A postgraduate student who is granted a leave of absence shall, when he/she resumes his/her studies, continues to be subject to the status of study of the time of his/her enrolment as a postgraduate student.
In special cases, the Steering Committe may approve an extension of the period of study of up to two (2) additional academic semesters for the completion of the thesis, provided that the postgraduate student has submitted a written request to the Steering committee (at least two months before the end of the third semester), stating the reasons for the extension.
